Beyond Gaming: The POCO F9 Series Runs Your Whole Day

POCO’s latest feature on the POCO F9 Series makes a simple argument: the phone that earned its reputation on frame rates now has to carry the rest of the day as well. The F9 Ultra and the F9 Pro launched in the Philippines on September 1, 2026, and the company’s new pitch leans as much on work, study, content creation, and late-night viewing as it does on gaming.

Gaming roots that still show

The series keeps the hardware that built the F line’s following. The F9 Ultra runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the F9 Pro uses the V Series version of the same chipset, and both pair it with the dedicated VisionBoost D8 graphics chip. POCO quotes an AnTuTu score of 4,165,108 for the Ultra, the highest it says it has recorded on a POCO phone.

Both displays refresh at up to 185Hz with 480Hz touch sampling, and the Ultra’s 6.9-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel adds Dynamic Light around the rear camera that reacts to games, audio, and notifications. The Pro uses a smaller 6.59-inch 1.5K panel.

All-day battery, a 200MP camera, and Bose audio

Endurance is the claim most buyers will weigh. The Ultra carries an 8,050mAh silicon-carbon battery and the Pro a 6,330mAh cell, and both support 100W wired HyperCharge plus 50W wireless HyperCharge. A short top-up over a coffee break is enough to add hours, which matters more here than a spec sheet number.

Both phones share a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization and 4K video capture. The Ultra adds a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide, while the Pro uses a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto and an 8MP ultrawide. A 32MP front camera handles selfies on either model.

Audio is where the Ultra separates itself. It uses a Bose-tuned 2.1-channel system with dual symmetrical stereo speakers and an independent subwoofer, a setup that turns the phone into a small speaker for a movie or a road trip singalong. The Pro keeps Bose-tuned symmetrical stereo speakers. Both panels support Dolby Vision and HDR10+, both carry TÜV Rheinland eye comfort certification, and both are rated IP68.

POCO F9 Series price and availability in the Philippines

POCO sells the F9 Series through its online store, Shopee, Lazada, and Xiaomi stores nationwide. Philippine prices start at PhP49,999 for the F9 Pro at 12GB + 256GB and PhP55,999 for the F9 Ultra at 12GB + 256GB. The Ultra rises to PhP59,999 for 16GB + 512GB and PhP89,999 for 16GB + 1TB.

POCO ran an early bird promo from September 1 to 16, 2026 that brought the Ultra’s entry model down to PhP45,999 and bundled a free pair of earbuds. That window has since closed. The Ultra ships in Dark Cherry and Black, while the Pro comes in White, Aurora Green, and Black, with HyperOS 3.1 on Android 16 on both.
