Here it is guys, the much awaited review of DTC’s dual-sim/TV-enabled mobile phone. Whew, that went well. You’ll be surprised to know that this has lots of features for its built and price. Well I guess that’s how DTC creates phones – not pricey, but surprising. The users of the phone will surely be entertained and wowed. Join me in this review and let’s reveal what this device can do.
DESIGN & PERFORMANCE
First up, the design. Well, at first sight you can see that this device is like an iPhone/Samsung mash up. The side metal makes the device gives a more business yet stylish look. The three buttons at the front makes it easier to navigate; and surprisingly, it’s not that hard to press. Like today’s touch screen devices, the center button brings you to the Main Menu while the left and right buttons bring you to the Call Log. At the left side of the phone lies the Volume Rocker and at the right side is the Camera Button.
At the rear side, you will see the camera, the speakers and screaming logo of DTC. It’s very entertaining to see DTC to make itself known – they do it by bombarding their phones with logos. The position of the speakers looks good; while the 2.0 megapixel camera is a little bit awkward to look at because of its silver finish. The device also uses 3.5 mm headphone jack and mini USB port at the top.
DISPLAY
The 3.5 resistive touch display of GT2 is surprisingly easy to press. As expected, the device includes 2 imitation themes: iOS and Android. Do not worry of the responsiveness of this phone because a slight pressure on the screen gets the job done.
EVOLUTION OF DUAL SIM JAVA-BASED PHONES
GT2 has dual sim-dual standby feature which really makes the consumers say, “Wow!” The performance of the phone stays perfect when it comes to this feature. During my usage, I did not experience any lag or “hang” moments to this phone. Take note that this phone uses a generic JAVA-based OS, similar to china TV-phones.
You can even add up to 8 GB of storage to maximize your experience with this phone.
TV ON THE GO
The device also houses a mobile TV, which makes it even more consumer friendly. Unfortunately, the TV signal was woozy so I was not able to test it properly.
THE VERDICT
I will give you a short summary to wrap this baby up:
- 3.5 inch Liquid Crystal Display with Resistive touch
- 2 megapixel camera and VGA camera at the front
- FM Radio
- Mobile TV
- Dual Sim/Dual Standby
- PHP 2,799
With the very justifiable price and all the outstanding features, I can say that I am really impressed with this phone. Purchasing this phone could be one of the best decisions you can make right now.
