Sony finally introduced the 2nd iteration to their very first wearable connected device, the SmartWatch 2. The said device will now connect to your Android device via NFC (near-field communication) as opposed to the SmartWatch 1 (check our review here) which uses bluetooth as main connectively component.
The SW2 is slightly bigger than its predecessor – 1.6i nches as opposed to the SW1 with 1.42 inches. Sony has also improved the color display of the device – 220-by-176-pixel color display – which allows users to read content even in sunlight. This is definitely a huge improvement as it is one of the major concerns of the 1st SmartWatch.

While the SW2 can connect to NFC, it can also connect through bluetooth. This time, the device uses Bluetooth 4.0, so expect this to last longer than the 1st SW.
Sony said the SmartWatch 2 will be available worldwide starting in Sept. 2013. Pricing was not disclosed.
