Arc Mobile is known for bringing the most affordable Smartphones available for every Filipinos. Now, here is an Arc Mobile tablet–Arc Mobile Tab 701D. A dual core tablet on a very affordable price.

FRONT: Front Camera on the upper right corner of the unit. No capacitive buttons on the unit. It uses the normal soft touch keys like any regular android tablets.

Memory Card Slot and Mic at the back of the Volume Buttons

You may think that this tablet may lack features because of its affordable price, you might want to think twice. The Arc Mobile Tab 701D is a 7-inch tablet packed with 1.6 GHz Dual Core processor, and Mali-400 GPU. It has 8GB of internal memory which you can expand up to 32GB. It has a 2MP rear camera and VGA front camera. It supports USB OTG so you wont have a hard time transferring files using a flash drive. With this USB OTG feature, you can easily transform your tablet to a laptop by using an external keyboard. Unfortunately, I did not get to test if USB 3G dongles would work on this device.

Performance

After I got hold of the unit, the first thing I did was to setup my account and immediately downloaded my favorite game, Need for Speed: Most Wanted. At first I was kinda hesitant that it will work because Arc Mobile is new to me and has not proven anything yet. But I guess the saying “Don’t Judge the Book by It’s Cover” is correct. Arc Mobile proved me wrong. The game ran smooth and impressive; although it took quite longer than usual to load the game. I also have tried playing different games like Plants Vs Zombies, Real Racing 3, Field Runners, Agent Dash, Temple Run 2, and others. All mentioned games worked well, but occasional stuttering and errors happened.

The unit heats up a little bit while playing but it is normal since most devices heat up when playing 3D games.

Online Multiplayer Game: Heroes of Knight and Chaos

Productivity and work wise, 701D did not disappoint me. I tried to use it tablet to open my emails and document editing. I also did video calls using Skype, and Google Hangouts. In fact, I used this device with USB OTG keyboard to write my 2 previous articles.

Other brands will say that their tablet is powerful because it runs on a Quad Core processor but it fails during actual usage. Tab 701D over delivered in this aspect even if it only has a dual core processor. If you are looking for a good and affordable tablet, Tab 701D is the best for you.  At the price of Php3,999, this tablet will surely give a great value for your money.
