After a very successful launch of the Cosmos line, Cherry Mobile is on the roll again and ready to launch another device. Before all those who just got a Cosmos X or the recently made available Cosmos Z get really pissed, the device that Cherry Mobile will launch tomorrow could be a follow up to the most successful product they launched last year.
You will probably remember that Cherry launched the wildly successful “dual core ng bayan” last year, Flare. Last May, the 2nd iteration of Flare was leaked by several tech sites. According to the leaked specification of Flare 2.0, the new device apparently sports a 1.2Ghz Qualcomm processor with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory. There was no price quoted on the leaked pictures and documentations.
Leaked Cherry Mobile Flare 2.0 specs:
4-inch 480 x 800 display
1.2GHz quad-core CPU
4GB internal memory
micro SD up to 32GB
5MP camera w/LED flash
VGA front-facing camera
WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
Android 4.1 Jellybean
124 x 63 x 9.9 mm
If you’ll notice the event invite that Cherry Mobile sent us, apart from the word ‘#Gamechanger’, characters F & 2 are quite obvious. The characters may or may not mean anything but why on Earth did they even design the invitation that way? Cherry Mobile has the knack of posting posters or graphics that enigmatically tease their latest product.
LTE phone ng bayan?
If Cherry would indeed announce Flare 2.0 tomorrow, I guess that it would have different specifications compared to the leaked information last May. The fact that Cherry has been so zealous in plugging the word “#gamechanger” (with a hashtag), the new device – whether or not it will be called Flare 2.0 – possibly sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that supports LTE. If the latter happens though, it’s very likely that the new device will still have a dual-core processor in consideration for the price.
Of course, these stuff could just be figment of my imagination. But think about it guys – what do you think will Cherry Mobile launch? Hit the comments guys!
Everything will be revealed tomorrow at 11am. Of course, this article will be updated during or right after the official announcement?
