Last September 11, Thinkscape launched several devices that included wearable technologies and accessories for smartphones and other digital devices. Thinkscape is the exclusive distributor of Cookoo Watch in the Philippines.
Composed of esteemed professionals, Thinkscape’s focus is to anticipate and discover what’s new and innovative — making consumers live fuller, more connected lives. One of the managing partners, Hans Kenner Fernandez, took the stage in introducing the new products they’re going to distribute to retailers nationwide.
Thinkscape took the opportunity to relaunch the infamous connected device, Cookoo Watch. Cookoo positioned this gadget as a connected device rather than a smartwatch. Successfully funded as a Kickstarter product in July 7, 2012, the Cookoo Watch is marketed as the “ first REAL watch that connects with your smartphone, keeps you alerted, and unlike other smart watches, DOES NOT NEED TO BE RECHARGED!”. Beat that, Sony SmartWatch. It is a connected device rather than a smartwatch because it only displays notification icons – rather than displaying the whole content – on its E-ink display through Bluetooth 4.0 Low-energy connection.
Cookoo Watch is compatible to all iOS devices and Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Mega. Next month, all Android phones that are upgradable to Android 4.3 will be able to sync their phone to the watch. Check out our review of Cookoo Watch here.
Key Features of the Cookoo Connected Watch:
- Display Type : Analog for the clock. Digital for Connected Display.
- Watch Movement : Japanese analog movement
- Watch Material : Plastic casing, aluminium bezel, anti-scratch mineral glass with soft silicon band
- Case Diameter : 44mm
- Case Thickness : 16.3mm
- Bluetooth : Bluetooth® 4.0, Bluetooth Smart, Bluetooth Low Energy
- Water Resistant : 5 ATM (Water tested to 50 meters. Suitable for showering or swimming in shallow water)
- Warranty : 1 year
- Color : Blue, Pink, Silver, Black and White
During the launch, Thinkscape also introduced the Cookoo Watch/Thinkscape product Ambassadors, Tracy Abad and Chuckie Dreyfus. Tracy Abad is a celebrity DJ for Mellow 94.7. And while we believe that everybody knows Chuckie, Chuckie Dreyfus is a composer and multi-talented celebrity who is known for his stint as one of the castaways in Survivor Philippines.
Phonesuit Battery Pack
Our favorite battery pack for the iPhone was also launched during the event. Hans also announced the Phonesuit variant for Android phones, using micro-USB.
Phonesuit Flex is the best looking pocket charger for the iPhone 5 and Android devices. It can easily be placed on the pocket without making you look like you pick-pocketed an elephant. Check out our full review of Phonesuit Flex for the iPhone 5 here.
Other accessories and devices that Thinkscape launched during the event are the following:
Locofoto Universal Camera Lens
This is one of my favorite accessories that Thinkscape launched. This universal clip lens for smartphones can simply turn your device into a semi-professional camera. This is perfect for Instagram-enthusiasts and budding photographers. The lenses are flexibly designed to fit any smartphone model. It comes in 4 different designs – Fisheye, Wide-Angle, Telephoto and Macro. Unfortunately there is no package that contains all the designs – only 2 designs are packed together.
Locofoto lenses will be available for only PhP 900 (Fisheye or Wide-Angle) and PhP 1,250 (Telephoto or Macro) in Philippine Apple retailers and online stores. You can also head on to Thinkscape’s website to pre-order these goodies… like now. Click on the picture below to proceed to the pre-order page.
Lenmar Meridian Power Cases for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S
Here’s an awesome alternative to Boostcase and Mophie power case for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. Thinkscape also launched this accessory for your “battery power-muncher” iPhone 5. This case is beautifully designed for the iPhone 5 and the all new iPhone 5s and can power it up for 1.5 times. Thanks to its 2,300mAh battery.
Lenmar Meridian will be available for PhP 3,780 in Philippine Apple retailers and online stores. Like the LocoFoto lens, you can also pre-order this by going to Thinkscape’s website. If you own a Samsung Galaxy S4, you may want to consider getting Lenmar Halo instead. by going to this pre-order page.
Pursecase, DreamCheeky iPlay and Solio
Thinkscape also launched several accessories like a case that stylishly protects the iPhone 5, a musical keyboard designed to connect with Apple devices so you can use to serenade someone and a power bank that harnesses the power of the sun in the first solar charger accredited by Apple Cupertino.
Pursecase is a gorgeous petite clutch elegantly designed with just your iPhone and essentials in mind. It comes in six stylish colors for women – black, pink, purple, teal, white, and limited edition neon yellow – so you can match it to your fashion style and taste.
Pursecase is now available for PhP 1,650 (PhP 1,750 for the limited edition neon yellow design) in Philippine stores. You can check it out at Mobile 1, Switch, A.Shop, Gadgets in Style, and ava.ph.
DreamCheeky has been in our radar since 2010. They sent us 3 of their products – Thunder Launcher, Mailbox Friends Alert and Big Red Button. We’re just so glad to know that they have finally found a distributor of their products here in the Philippines. First on the list, which Thinkscape launched, is DreamCheeky iPlay. It is a musical companion to your Apple device. It functions and sounds like a real Piano, but comes with a free bundled Application on the iTunes App Store that lets your smartphone power it up.
The iPlay Piano will be available soon in the Philippines for PhP 3,500.
Last but not the least is a power bank that can be recharged either via the sun, plugging into a regular USB, or charging directly into a wall socket – Solio. Thinkscape launched 2 models of Solio – Classic and Bolt.
Classic is for those who prioritize power load, because of its capacity to recharge most smartphones up to three times over. Bolt is for those who love portability, packing just enough energy to charge your device in an emergency.
Solio will soon be available at PhP 2,850 Solio Classic and PhP 2,200 for Solio Bolt in Philippine stores.
