Cherry Mobile Burst 2.0’s hardware specifications may be likened to Flare 2.0. However, many of you maybe worrying about the 512MB RAM and how it will affect the performance of the Burst 2.0. I will discuss about this further.

Design and Build

Burst 2.0’s most evident design feature is its curved back panel. It doesn’t scratch easily because of its matte and glossy plastic materials.

It has a standard button placement with the power button on the right side and the volume rockers on the left. The 3 capacitive buttons are found just below the 4.5-inch screen. Its microUSB port can easily be found at the top.

At the back, you will find its 5mp auto focus camera with LED Flash, while its speakers can be found at the bottom. The phone is dual-sim capable, so if you pry open its back cover, you will find two SIMCard Slots and the microSD slot.

Screen

Cherry Mobile Burst 2.0 has a 4.5 inch FWVGA display means with 480 x 854 screen resolution.  The screen is bright and displays content with acceptable clarity. It isn’t the best screen you can find, but it’s good enough for its price. Viewing angle is limited too.

Camera

The 5MP Rear Camera of Burst 2.0 can produce a good quality image especially in good light condition, but fails to impress me in low light condition. I find its flash too bright, so I almost did not capture a good photo when it is enabled.

Check out sample photos below.

Performance

Overall, Burst 2.0’s performance is suitable only for productivity. Yes, I didn’t encounter any problems when using the phone for texting, calling, watching videos; but if you are thinking of buying this phone for gaming purposes, you might get disappointed.

During my tests, I tried playing Dead Trigger 2, Need For Speed , NBA 2k13 but all games failed to load due to limited resources.

In terms of battery, Burst 2.0 is impressive. Its 2000mAh’s battery lasted a day with moderate usage, and about 7 hours of heavy use.

Verdict

At PhP4,699, Burst 2.0 may be a good option for those particular with smartphones with slightly bigger screen with 16:9 ratio. At such price though, Flare HD can be easily topple it especially in terms of performance. There’s some sacrifice with the latter though as its screen is smaller, but its 1GB RAM can definitely spell the difference.
