One of Philippines’ top local brand, Starmobile, recently announced the country’s first local branded Intel-powered tablet – Engage 9i.
Engage 9i is powered by an Intel Atom Z2580 Clovertrail+ chipset and processor with Intel Hyper-threading technology. That is really something to rave about especially if you’re looking for a tablet with great performance whether for gaming or productivity without busting your budget. To top it off, the device has a 2gb RAM, which would be enough to handle memory-demanding applications.
The device’s GPU is PowerVR SGX544MP2, clocked at 533mHz. That should be enough for you to play your favorite games, which require higher hardware specifications. Just for your reference: Ramos I9 has the same chipset and GPU. Based on its looks, it seems that Engage 9i is Ramos I9.
Engage 9i looks ravishing with its shell glass material. Its slightly tapered edges remind me of the iPhone 5s. Its 8.9 screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution (16:10 aspect ratio) would be perfect for viewing favorite movies and playing games. It’s 235.5mm tall and 150mm wide. For reference, it is obviously bigger and wider than the iPad Mini.
Other noteworthy features include a 16gb internal memory, which you can convenient expand up to 32gb more; USB OTG compatibility and 6,500 mAh battery.
We, at Gadget Pilipinas, are excited to physically see this device. The ENGAGE 9i will be available first week of February in Starmobile Kiosks and Stores Nationwide, and will be sold for only PhP9,990.
We are happy and honored to be trusted by Starmobile to be one of their media partners to officially announce their new products and services. Stay tuned for more product announcements, unboxing, first impressions and reviews of Starmobile products soon. This week, we shall also unbox and eventually review the infamous Starmobile Diamond V3. And hopefully soon, you’ll see us talk about Starmobile’s 1st octa core smartphone, Diamond X1 which is now available for PhP13,990.
