This year’s most anticipated gadget, the Samsung Galaxy S5, was finally launched last April 3, 2014 at Samsung Hall, SM Aura, Taguig. Along with the Galaxy S5, Samsung Philippines also launched Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit, Samsung’s wearable devices.
Less Change on Look, But Has More Features than the Previous Iteration
The Galaxy features a perforated pattern on the back cover creating a modern glam look. I like Charcoal Black or Electric Blue, but there are other choices – copper Gold and shimmery White.
Though the new Galaxy S’ design doesn’t stray away much from with the previous iteration, the S5 is packed with lots of new features. It comes with enhanced security features to keep its users away from danger and allow users to be ready for emergencies. This is one of the best things about the new Galaxy. Its power saving mode can make the phone tick and function for 12.5 days.
Other than its whopping battery-saving feature, it also comes with an integrated Finger scanner that secures data while providing ease of access with just one swipe. Yes, your finger is now your means to purchase that things you like and need.
And yes, the Galaxy S5 is also water and dust resistant. This was demoed during the launch and if you want to see it in action, be sure to check out the new video above.
Super-Powered Camera
Galaxy S5 has a 16mp rear camera complemented with software features like real time HD, Selective Focus, and Fast Auto Focus. I am particularly impressed with Selective Focus, which allows users to take a picture and later adjust the focus to subjects in the photo.
Be Fit
The new Galaxy can help you monitor your health on-the-go thanks to its built-in pedometer and heart rate monitor (located just below its rear camera). Of course, it’s much better if you pair the Galaxy S5 with Gear Fit, which allows users to receive instant notifications and alerts and other phone functionalities.
Alternatively, you can also pair the new Galaxy with Gear 2 Neo, which runs on Samsung’s Tizen.
Access the Internet Like A Boss
Galaxy S5 features advanced network technology to help you access and truly enjoy the internet. When Download Booster is turned on, the phone intelligently bonds your WiFi and LTE for fast internet speeds.
