Cherry Mobile Ultra Preview and First Impressions

Although inside a hotel in Manila, the attendees – both media and bloggers – have felt the heat as Cherry Mobile unveiled its much-anticipated smartphone called “Ultra.” Runs on Android Jellybean 4.3, Ultra comes with an inexpensive price tag of P8,999. Yes, you’ve read that right!

The ‘mighty’ smartphone – as what I have decided to call it – is housed in the usual Cherry Mobile box, only a bit bigger than the other ones. Aside from the Ultra, included in the box are USB connector, adapter, earphones, and a user manual.

What’s so special about this device? Well, besides the fact that it is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8926, Ultra features a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display that lets you enjoy everything from photos to videos. Also, it arrives with a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera to capture your selfies and other precious moments.

Among the smartphones I have reviewed, Ultra is probably the slimmest of them all. As for the battery, it boasts 2000mAh for longer text messaging, video watching, and online surfing. Have your countless songs and videos ready because it can store up to 8GB (ROM) and 1GB (RAM). Now, that’s something for a Cherry Mobile smartphone!
