If Weng-weng were a speaker, this thumb-sized speaker would be him.

At just 44mm in height, the X-Mini Thumb-Sized speaker is truly a wonder in small package. This tiny little speaker is designed for smartphones, tablets and portable music players. It also offers up to 6 hours of non-stop playback, and may easily be charged via USB.

Check out the unboxing photos below:

X-Mini is known for creating small but impressive speakers. The device we’ve got from them this time is not an exemption. The speaker has this very sturdy build. Its rubbery feel gives adds to its appeal that it’s built to last.

The rubber flap that covers the cone body and dust cap is removable. Don’t worry because you will not miss it because the flap is attached to the stainless steel “key ring”.

Unfortunately, you cannot connect your device to the minuscule speaker via Bluetooth. The only way to listen to the songs on smartphone through this speaker is via the provided microUSB cable. There is a danger to lose this cable, but may easily be replaced. Hardware and gadget stores usually sell microUSB cables with 3.5mm headphone jack. Still, I would have prepared had they added Bluetooth connectivity on the device.

Connecting the speaker to the device is a no-brainer. Simply connect the microUSB to the speaker’s port, and hook the other end to your smartphone – and voila!

As for its sound, it is loud for its size; but it isn’t something that you’ll take outdoors. I tried to connect this on my Cherry Mobile Ultra and it sounded just right. I also tried using MX Player so I can boost my media content’s sound. Understandably, because the sound is too high for its size, the quality of sound the speaker gave off was a bit tinny.
