More than a month from its official unveiling in Berlin, Samsung Mobile Philippines finally launched the 4th iteration of the phablet today, October 24, 2014, at Sofitel Manila and SM Mall of Asia.

The launch event was hosted by Boom Gonzales, and was attended by more than 40 bloggers. With a theme centered on “SURPRISES”, the event was a fitting and opportune time to highlight the Galaxy Note 4’s best and new features.

After a bit of activities and games for the media, everyone one was lifted to SM Mall of Asia, where the main launch happened. During the event, Samsung surprised the 1st four virtual registrants (to get the Note 4) free Galaxy Note 4 each. Samsung, also, later awarded free tablets to the winners of the game/challenge exclusively for the media.

What’s new with Galaxy Note 4?

For starters, the Note 4 has a 5.7 inch QHD Super Amoled display – that’s about the same size compared to Note 3, but with higher PPI and resolution (2560 x 1440). It seems that Samsung had already decided to stick to the same size, and improve the pixel density and resolution for the succeeding iterations.

This time around, the new Note has a super-powered S-pen, which delivers better input and sensitivity compared to the previous Note. Samsung also added a slew and improved features of the S-Pen and S-Note like Pen Note, Snap Note,  Text Note and Voice Note.

More than anything else, the Note 4 has an even better Camera than the previous model. The device has 16mp AF camera with Smart OIS to help avid photo enthusiasts to take more stable and sharper photos, even in a shaky situation. For a lot of Filipinos, its 3.7mp camera with f1.9 aperture, is made to “involve” everyone with its much celebrated Wide Selfie.

Taking good cues from the smaller Galaxy S5, the new Note now has a fingerprint sensor for added security and shopping convenience, and Ultra Power Saving Mode.

The Galaxy Note 4 is now available for PhP37,990.
