Cherry Mobile Me Fun 4

There are plenty of things you’d love about the Cherry Mobile Gadget Pilipinas Me Fun. I’d like to run you through the stuff you can find inside the box and the phone’s looks and specs.

As seen above (and the video we’ll be posting soon), Me Fun’s retail box contains a manual, charger, microUSB cable, 3.5mm headphones and an additional case (apart from the personalized case). There’s also a Me card included, which you can use to avail of another personalized cover for free. All you have to do is to use it until June 30, and avail it thru Cherry Mobile’s Personalize website.

The device has a 4-inch One Glass Solution display with 480 x 800 display. Just atop its screen are light and proximity sensors, and VGA camera. Below its screen are the capacitive buttons in the following order from left to right – menu, home and back. On its left side, you will find the volume rockers; while its left is only occupied with sleep/wake button. Its top side, however, is populated with 3.5mm jack and microUSB port.

On the inside, Me Fun is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212) SoC. The processor is clocked at 1.2Ghz, and its Adreno 302 GPU is good for games that don’t demand much power. Browsing thru the app tray and navigating the phone’s UI is smooth with occasional stutters. Switching from one app to another isn’t perfect as it sometimes hiccups, but that’s expected for a phone with 512mb memory (405mb usable).  The device has 1gb internal memory available, but you can upgrade it up to 64gb thru its microUSB card. You don’t need to worry if you find 1gb too little to install your apps as the phone has a native Move-to-SD card feature. That’s a convenient and totally a bonus if you’re much of a app hoarder… just like me.

Me Fun’s rear camera is 5.0 megapixels with LED flash but without autofocus. I quickly tested its rear facing camera in poor lighting condition, and these are are the qualities of photos I got. These aren’t exactly ‘very poor’ in my book as the sensor tried – although struggled a bit – to suck all the light it needs to produce an output albeit grainy.

Its front camera is only VGA, but that should be enough to take selfies in good lighting condition.

So, there you have it guys! I know you’ve got questions about this device! We’d love to test it all out and answer your questions from now until next week.
