This is the SKK Mobile Lynx.

Lynx is placed in a rather familiar retail box. If you’ve seen our SKK Mobile V2 unboxing photos, you will agree that Lynx’s retail box is dead giveaway that it’s SKK’s. The box’s front shows how the phone looks like. It shows icons at the bottom, that basically gives you an idea the phone’s salient features. On it’s upper right, it also shows a logo of EasyShop.ph, which could be one of the major retailers that will sell this phone.

If you look at the back of the box, you will Lynx’s hardware specifications. You’ve probably seen this many times at SKK Mobile Facebook page, so let’s go ahead and proceed with our unboxing.

A gentle upward pool of the box’s front portion reveals the SKK Lynx in full glory. Let’s put it aside for now, and proceed in looking at what’s underneath the felt layer where the phone rests.

Here are the things that you can find inside it:

  • Earphones
  • Micro USB Cable
  • 5.0v Charger
  • 2500mAh Li-Ion Battery
  • Manuals
  • Warranty

At this point, let’s go ahead and focus our attention to the phone.

The phone looks and feels different compared to the other phones by SKK. To be honest, just by looking at it, you wouldn’t probably think that I’m holding an SKK phone. It’s back case probably set the difference, and if you’ve used or seen an SKK V2 – for instance, Lynx is a proof that SKK is starting to step their game.

Let me give you a quick tour of the phone. The phone has a 5-inch screen HD IPS display. We will subject this to further test, and we will give you a full report soon. Above its screen are the earpiece, light sensor and its 5mp front camera. Just below its screen are 2 capacitive buttons in the following order: menu, home and back buttons. The layout is the same with SKK Mobile V2, so if you’re switch from the latter, it wouldn’t be difficult to get used to it.

On the phone’s right side, you will see the Sleep/Wake button. Volume rockers, are conveniently located on its left side. It only has one microphone, and it can be found at the bottom. And if you’re looking for its ports, don’t worry – everything can be seen on top of the phone – it’s 3.5mm headphone jack and MicroUSB port.

If you turn the phone upside down, its back panel shows the 13mp camera with auto-focus and flash. SKK didn’t tell the specifics of this camera – they probably got something in store for everyone. Remember what they lately announced about V2 and its Sony Camera? Anyway, it’s back cover has a tiny nib so you can easily detach it from the phone and reveal the battery, microSD slot and 2 SIM slots – one for regular and another one for micro-SIM.
