Last May 29, 2015, UK-based accessories brand, Boompods, launched slew of new gadgets and accessories at the F1 Hotel, Taguig, Manila. The event was attended by members of the media and distributors nationwide, and Boompods founder, Prem Balani.
Bedazzled with colourful casings and infused with high-quality grade materials, the Boompods accessories we tried during the event are amazing! During a brief interview with the founder, Prem Balani, he said that he wanted the products to standout thus the color, build and quality. “We were looking at tech gadgets and we were, ‘Why are all the gadgets looking the same?’ I mean, speakers are square, music is coming out from the top, there’s no color, some of the companies are very conservative in their design, or it’s taking too long for newer models to come out. We said ‘Let’s challenge ourselves, can we actually make electronic gadgets like this,’” he added.
Boompods introduced their wide array of products during the event like their rechargeable speaker with downward-facing drivers and Bluetooth connectivity – Downdraft; and their Bluetooth-enabled wireless 3-watt speaker and passive subwoofer – Double Blaster.

One of the speakers that caught our attention during the launch was the Aquapod. It’s an IPX7 rated speaker, which basically can withstand incidental exposure to water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. According to Mr.Balani, included in the retail box of Aquapod are suction cup and mounting tools. Well, it looks we finally have the “GoPro” of speakers. Here’s how the Aquapod looks like with the suction cup installed. Pretty neat, right?
Apart from the aforementioned products, they also showcased their compact wireless headphones, Headpods, duo Lightning and Micro USB cables, and powerbanks which are all equally bang for the buck. Boompods provided us a white-colored Headpods for our review. We would also be happy to give this one away soon to one of our lucky followers. Stay tuned for the mechanics!
