While most Filipinos are all eyes and ears to consumer electronics brands from Taiwan and China, a worldwide brand well-loved and known to a lot of Filipinos suddenly announced their return to the Philippines. Welcome back to the Philippines, Motorola.
After Motorola’s smartphone division was sold by Google to Lenovo last October 2014, the latter carefully studied their portfolio and strategically positioned Lenovo smartphones as entry-level and Motorola smartphones as middle to premium-positioned devices. Fast forward to 2015, Lenovo Philippines took the bite in bringing in 3 Motorola devices to “test the waters”, and will slowly introduce more devices if sales pick up accordingly.
During the launch event that happened at Sentro 1771 Capital Commons, Lenovo Marketing Manager, Vincent de la Cruz, and Clearsight Corporation introduced the 2nd Gen Moto X, 2nd Gen Moto G and 2nd Gen Moto E. These devices were launched last year, and received international rave responses and sales (especially in the United States).
Moto X: For the Win
Moto X packs a slew of awesome features and monster specs. For starters, the 2nd Gen Moto X is powered by a Snapdragon 801, supported by 2gb RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. Theoretically, Moto X’s raw specs are pretty capable; and it’s something that you can use for more than 2 years without feeling too technologically left behind.
Its abundant and generous specs is supported by its robust, non-intrusive and minimalist software enhancements, which Motorola cooked up on the Moto X. This includes Moto Assist, Moto Actions, Moto Voice and Moto Display. These features make Moto X more intelligent and customizable, which ultimately enhances the smartphone experience.
Moto X will be available later this month through local brick and mortar shops. Motorola is also in talks with telcos and online sellers so the product may be bought via wide array of means.
