Yesterday, Starmobile treated us with a delightful news with the Starmobile Knight Spectra. The new Knight features dual-rear cameras, 4G LTE data, 3500mAh battery, and Php 14,990 price tag.

Today, Starmobile announced another thrilling news that might send its local competitors to chills. Pillar and jump-starter of the smartphone industry, Jerry Manus, joins Starmobile as its Chief Operation Officer.

A product of the University of San Carlos, Manus isn’t actually new in the mobile industry. He headed Nokia’s several projects and operations from 2005 to 2014. His last stint at Nokia was the Cambonia’s and Laos’ Country Manager. A month later, Manus joined Apple as an iOS Manager.

According to Manus, “I am more than thrilled to be part of a homegrown brand. This will be a great opportunity for Starmobile to further prove that a Filipino company can stand toe-to-toe with the best of the world.”

Prior to joining the tech and mobile, Jerry spent 5 years in the fast-moving consumer goods industry like Mead Johnson, Colgate Palmolive and Reckitt Benckiser.

His appointment was green-lighted by Starmobile’s President, Ulysses Lao. He said, “To say that we are excited to have Mr. Manus join Starmobile is an understatement. With his proficiency, he will be able to lead Starmobile to a bigger and brighter future.”

Starmobile is one of the most sought-after technology brands in the Philippines. The company is known for pioneering new technologies like introducing smartphones with digital TV and dual camera smartphones like the recently launched Spectra.
