Robots. AI. Companion. Don’t think that these things are going to rule the world anytime soon. For all we know, especially with latest cute robot that ASUS launched today here at Computex, these things might come to our rescue someday.

Meet ASUS Zenbo. It was introduced by ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih today here at Computex Taiwan. It is a friendly robot – supposedly – that is designed to carry out several tasks at home and can even act as your personal mobile assistant.

During the launch and demo during ASUS Zenvolution event, Shih showed the attendees – media and dealers around the world – what Zenbo can do. It can tell you how to cook meals, take your photos, alarm friends that you’re in danger (no kidding), tell your kids interactive stories, monitor your home, remind you to take your meds and a whole lot more.

With an SRP of $499, ASUS commits to make the device accessible and available to more countries as they are positioning it as a mainstream robot for several purposes – educational, business, entertainment and more.

During the event, ASUS also encouraged developers to create applications compatible to Zenbo.

There is no certainty if Zenbo will come to the Philippines, but I’m counting ourselves in to buy one when it becomes available.
