Amazon Web Services is composed of 90 cloud-based solutions which can greatly improve the efficiency of business operations. Since it’s an on-demand service, you only pay for what you need, when you need it.
To date, the company has already set up more than 20 offices across the APAC region, including Singaore, Malaysia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Australia, Japan, Korea, and China to support the AWS customer base and channel partner ecosystems.
The folks from AWS conducted a Media Masterclass which focused on Artificial Intelligence as the topic. They showed that AI is about training a specific model about what is right and what is not by feeding it information, and as it gets more and more input, its accuracy increases (ex: identifying what a car or a person looks like).
Imagine going to a mall with only guards as attendants, and then walking into a shop getting what you need and then walking out without having to fall in line to pay for the goods. This is just one application of Artificial Intelligence.
They also demonstrated a few example of its application, such as controlling a robot and an Intel Edison Board, reading Facebook message from voice input, and creating a chat bot which can answer queries from users.
From what we saw, we can see that the potential of AI is indeed limitless as it keeps on evolving, and that someday, our dream of a completely smart city can finally come true.
