Two days ago, ASUS officially launched the new Zenfone 4 lineup in Taiwan, and earlier today, the brand officially welcomed the arrival of the new devices here in PH, starting off with the Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 Pro.
Zenfone 4
The fourth iteration of the popular smartphone boasts a slew of improvements compared to previous generation, including a more powerful processor, more memory, and a new dual camera system.
The ASUS Zenfone 4 boasts a 5.5-inch Full HD SuperIPS+ display, and runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 and 660 processors along with up to 6GB of RAM, and up to 64GB of built-in storage with microSD card support of up to 2TB capacity. It also uses a triple slot tray, so you can use two SIM cards along with your memory card at the same time.
Dual camera systems are a trend these days, and the Zenfone 4 isn’t one to be left out. It sports dual rear cameras composed of a 12MP main camera (Sony IMX362) with OIS, EIS, and capable of slow motion video capture, complimented by a second 8MP camera with a 120° wide angle lens.For optimal white balance and natural more natural looking colors, the Zenfone 4 has also been fitted with a dedicated Color Correction sensor.
For selfies, the Zenfone 4 is equipped with an 8MP front camera capable of beauty mode, and 140° Selfie Panorama shots.
ASUS didn’t skip out on sound as well with dual speakers, Hi-Res audio capability and DTS Headphone:X technology for 7.1 virtual surround sound.
The Zenfone 4 packs a 3300mAh battery with ASUS’ BoostMaster fast charging and runs on the latest ZenUI 4.0 on top of Android Nougat, with a planned update to Android O some time in 2018.

Zenfone 4 Pro
As the new flagship, the Zenfone 4 Pro takes it a step further not only on the outside with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, but also on internals, as it runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a whopping 6GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of built-in storage expandable with a microSD card.
It also features the same 12MP main camera (Sony IMX362), but with a larger aperture of f/1.7, now complimented by a second 16MP camera (Sony IMX351) that is capable of up to 2x optical zoom. It’s fitted with a color correction sensor, OIS, EIS, and ASUS’ TriTech+ Technology which makes use of Dual Pixel PDAF, Subject Tracking AF, and a 2nd generation Laser AF. Like the Vanilla Zenfone 4, it’s also capable of 4K UHD and slow motion video recording.
The 8MP front camera uses a Sony IMX319 Sensor, and is also capable of beauty mode and 140° Selfie Panorama shots.
The device also features dual speakers, three noise cancelling microphones, Smart AMP, and DTS Headphone:X technology for 7.1 virtual surround sound.
