Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Goes Official: Enhanced S-Pen, Dual Rear Cameras

Samsung has finally unveiled the newest iteration of its popular Note Series, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with enhances S-Pen capabilities, and the company’s first to Feature a dual rear camera system.

The Note 8 sports a beautiful 6.3-inch WQHD+ SuperAMOLED Infinity display, the biggest display ever on a Note device. It’s powered by the same monster that drives the S8 and S8+, the Exynos 8895 Octa, along with 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage.

One of the main improvements to this version is in imaging, as the Note 8 now boasts a dual rear camera system composed of a 12MP RGB sensor with a wide angle lens, along with dual pixel technology for vibrant and crystal clear photos in just about any condition, coupled with a second 12MP sensor with a telephoto lens.

Live Focus allows you to set the strength of the depth of field effect in preview mode after taking a photo. Dual Capture mode on the other hand, lets you take pictures using both lenses, and save them individually. The Note 8 is also fitted with an industry-leading 8MP front camera for clear and sharp selfies.

Another notable improvement is in the Note 8’s enhanced S-Pen capabilities. There’s a new feature called Live Message, which allows for sharing of animated texts and drawing across several platforms, allowing you to express yourself in a more personal way.

You can also take take up to a hundred pages of notes using Screen off memo by removing the S-Pen. You can also pin notes, and edit directly on the on-screen display.

Travelling to a foreign country? use the S-Pen’s improved translation feature by hovering on any text to quickly translate not only individual words, but also entire sentences in up to 71 languages. It can also quickly convert units and foreign currencies with ease.

Bixby, Samsung’s own voice assistant, is also present in the Note 8 with it’s Bixby Visual and Bixby Voice services. Only native apps are supported at this time, but hopefully that list expands.

Other features include IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, fast wireless charging, a USB Type-C interface, and Samsung DeX compatibility. The Note 8 packs a 3,300mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1. Nougat out of the box.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes in two colors: Midnight Black, and Maple Gold, and will have an SRP of PhP49,990. Pre-order period is from September 8 to 17, 2017. Those who pre-order will also get a FREE AKG Speaker worth PhP7,990. You can pre-order a unit from Smart, Globe, Lazada, Abenson, Argomall, and all Samsung Experience Stores.
