In an unprecedented move, AirAsia came up with the first social media reality show in the country last July 2017. After hundreds of submissions to get a stint as the airline’s first social media brand story teller, AirAsia announced the 5 finalists last August 30 in Makati, Philippines.

As a digital story telling competition, the finalists were chosen for their creative and captivating 6-second video entries. The finalists will then travel to various places in the Philippines including Bohol and the Cordillera region as location shoots for their new entries. They will also undergo intensive digital media production training for a month.

Create Camp isn’t just a glorified content creation campaign/contest. As a social media reality show, #CreateCamp involves mentoring and joy in utilizing social media as a vehicle to bring stories and message to more people. The finalists aren’t just gunning to receive a million pesos worth of prizes from AirAsia Philippines, but the joy of creating brand stories and learning from this country’s premier story tellers.

In AirAsia PH’s CEO message, he said that “We are amazed with the quality of work from these young talents and this competition highlights just how much talen and skills are just out there waiting to be discovered, supported, and be given a platform to shine. We are proud to bring finalists from North Luzon, Manila and Visayas to compete for the first-ever social media reality show.”

AirAsia is no stranger to out-of-the-box campaigns and contests in the past. Lasts March 2017, AirAsia held their first 18-hour hackathon. Eventually, Aviato from Singapore bagged the champion of the said contest.
