Starting today, you can pre-order the iPhone X via Smart at surprisingly good plan configurations. You can go and pre-order one on this page.
As highlighted in their pre-order page, their hero plan with iPhone X 64GB only costs PhP3,199 a month. The monthly recurring fee includes the monthly amortization of the phone of PhP1,700, and mobile network plan of PhP1,499.
Before we break down the benefits included in the plan, it is good to note that having all the fees considered, it seems that the total handset cost is just PhP40,800 (at 24 months amortization), as opposed to its SRP of PhP64,490. There is one caveat though – the latter SRP is unlocked, while the handset offered by Smart is locked to the their network. This should not be an issue if you’ve been loyal with Smart, or if you are switching from another network.
As for the mobile plan of PhP1,499, total payments you’ll spend after 24 months completion is PhP35,976. Add this to the PhP40,800 handset cost, and you spent a total of PhP76,776. This is far cheaper compared to the the rival network’s total 24-month plan cost including the handset amortization. With Smart’s hero plan configuration, your monthly fee (including the handset) is lower by PhP200 but a relatively inferior plan benefits. Check out a comparison based on our digging.
