On its National Selfie Day event held at Enchanted Kingdom, OPPO Philippines announced a partnership with Miss Possibilities, a beauty pageant for young women with special needs.
On its third run since 2015, the event has become a traditional venue for the special needs community to gather together for one special night in celebration of their achievements. In fact, it has also featured overwhelming support from influential personalities who joined the special fashion show with children from the community in French-themed outfits.
The recently crowned winner, Jennica Garcia, is a great example of perseverance despite the odds. Even with cerebral palsy, she still managed to not only finish a degree in Finance Accounting, but also pass the teacher’s licensure exam.
OPPO supports the Miss Possibilities foundation in its aim of raising awareness for equal treatment, with ending the use of the “R” word as one of their major advocacies.
All pageant contestants were given an OPPO smartphone, so they can capture important moments and share their experiences online.
“We fully support the advocacy of Miss Possibilities Foundation in giving people with special needs equal treatment in society today. The aim of ending the use of the “R” word is very admirable and should be encouraged as this is a start to having a better future for our society.” – OPPO Philippines’ PR Manager Eason de Guzman.
“Miss Possibilities Foundation gives those with special needs a platform to be celebrated without being judged or excluded because of their differences. We cherish those differences and would like to thank OPPO Philippines for doing the same. Thank you to OPPO Philippines for making this opportunity and experience possible for people with special needs and their families.” – Suzanna Yuzon, Founder and President of Miss Possibilities Foundation.
Miss Possibilities will continue its advocacy in 2018 through workshops, medical missions, and other programs for families with special needs.
