Samsung Electronics announced that the latest GDDR6 has now started  its mass production. The new memory chip will cater the latest graphics card, game consoles, even 8K Ultra HD video processing, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI). Technically, the new GDDR6 is a full upgrade from the previous GDDR5. The new chip will have 10nm process (8nm from GDDR5) and 16 gigabit of capacity (8GB from GDDR5). A 35% reduction in power is also achieved since the new chips operate on 1.35V instead of 1.55V.

Samsung hasn’t yet announce the official release of these powerful chips but one thing is for sure, we are getting clear view of the future.
