Following the launch of the Zenfone Max Plus, ASUS is continues to keep the ball rolling with the Zenfone 4 Max Lite, a toned down and even more affordable variant of the popular Zenfone 4 Max. (PhP7,995)

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max Lite has a slightly smaller 5.2-inch display with the same 720p resolution, and is powered by a Snapdragon 425 quad-core CPU versus the Max’s octa-core Snapdragon 430.  It has 2GB of RAM, which should be enough for casual use, but not for heavy multi-tasking. You also get 16GB of storage with microSD card support.

At least, ASUS decided to retain the dual 13MP + 5MP cameras at the back along with an 8MP front snapper. Are these just as good as the cameras on the Max? we’ll have to find out.

Of course, any Zenfone with the word Max means it focuses on battery life. In that regard, the Lite has a smaller 4,100mAh battery compared to the Max’s 5,000mAh. Now, that seems a lot, but remember that the Lite runs on a quad-core CPU, as opposed to the Max’s octa-core CPU. The battery tests should be quite interesting.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max Lite is now available in stores and retails for only PhP7,995, which seems like a proper price for what it offers.
