At the 2018 Samsung Southeast Asian and Oceania Forum, the company introduced its latest innovations along with its vision and strategy for new and immersive Internet of Things (IoT) experiences.
During the conference, Samsung also unveiled a new range of products, including a next-generation Family Hub refrigerator, a new washing machine technology called QuickDrive, the POWERstick PRO which is a cordless vacuum cleaner, as well as a new lineup of lifestyle and panoramic soundbars.
TV Experience Designed Around Users
Samsung announced the inclusion of its SmartThings app into its 2018 Smart TVs, allowing the devices to become a dashboard for the users IoT ecosystem. Users can manage connected devices using the largest screen they have at home. They can also easily and seamlessly sync multiple devices for notifications and content sharing.
The company also unveiled its top of the line soundbars to enhance the TV experience. The NW700 Sound+ soundbar can be wall-mounted and features distortion-cancelling, wide-range tweeters and multi-speaker control.
The Soundbar N650 on the other hand, features the patented “Samsung Acoustic Beam” technology for a panoramic sound experience. It also features a dedicated setting with sounds optimized for games.
Home Appliances that Deliver Simplicity
A winner of the recent 2018 CES Best of Innovation award, Samsung’s next-generation Family Hub Refrigerator offers a wide range of smart features such as syncing up food storage with meal preparation and providing enhanced entertainment. It has also become more intelligent with the addition of Bixby voice control and its integration with Samsung’s SmartThings IoT ecosystem.
A new Washing Machine technology called QuickDrive, also provides users the ability to drastically reduce the time it takes to do laundry in half. The WW7800M Washing Machine is also IoT ready, and features an AI-powered laundry assistant named Q-rator, which provides smart features that can help to manage laundry more conveniently.
Finally, there’s the high-performance POWERstick PRO, a cordless vacuum cleaner which boasts industry-leading suction power along with an ergonomic design.
