During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HMD Global, the company that now handles Nokia, announced that all Nokia devices from Nokia 3 and up will be part of the Android One program.
So what’s special about the Android One program? First and foremost, the device can receive regular security updates up to 3 years after their launch. From the tagline of Google, Android One is “Smart, secure and simply amazing” so expect a high level of security. The device has a pure Android OS with limited pre-installed apps.
The updated list of Nokia devices with Android One is: Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco. HMD Global also announced that the phones with no Android 8 out-of-the-box will get the updated Oreo 8.1 in the following weeks.
