After a week full of teasers, Vivo has finally launched its newest flagship smartphone here in the Philippines. Say hello to the new Vivo V9 with a full screen display, and a 24MP selfie camera.
In design alone, the Vivo V9 is a step-up from the previous V7 and V7+, with more real estate for your content, thanks to its 6.3 inch FHD+ 19:9 screen combined with a slim form factor. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor, which while dated, is still pretty capable. There’s 4GB of RAM for multi-tasking, and an ample 64GB of storage expandable with a microSD card.
For imaging, the device has a combination of 16MP + 5MP sensors at the rear, with the latter used for achieving the depth of field effect. The 24MP front comes with features such as AI-assisted Face Beauty, Group Selfie, and AR Stickers.
The V9 runs on Funtouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and brings a refreshing new look, along with a nifty set of features such as double tap to sleep and wake, raise to wake, Smart Split, App Clone, and more. The device packs a 3,250mAh battery.
The Vivo V9 is expected to be available in stores starting April 13, 2018, with pre-orders starting on March 26 until April 5, 2018. It will retail for PhP17,990. You may check out our first impressions here.
