Xiaomi Now Has a Gaming Laptop!

Apart from the new Mi Mix 2S, Xiaomi has also unveiled its first ever gaming laptop. That’s not really surprising, as they have already ventured into consumer notebooks in the past.

In any case, the Mi Gaming Laptop features a 15.6-display with FHD resolution, and is powered by a 7th-Gen. Intel Core i7-7700HQ. The base model will have 8GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, a 1TB HDD, and an NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti Graphics Card. The High end model on the other hand, will have twice as much RAM and SSD Capacity, along with a more powerful NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU.

All these components are housed in an Aluminium chassis that doesn’t scream the brand name. In fact, it looks like your usual work laptop, and that’s how Xiaomi wants it to be. There is however, one thing that sets it apart from your typical workplace machine – RGB lighting.

In terms of connectivity, you get four USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB Type-C ports, an HDMI port for use with an external display, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. No card reader unfortunately. The laptop’s cooling mechanism involves a 3+2 design for its heatpipe, along with four air outlets to ensure that things are kept cool during your gaming sessions.

The Mi Gaming Laptop is scheduled to go on sale starting April 13. The base model with the GTX 1050Ti, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD will retail for $960, while the high end model with a GTX 1060, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD will be priced at $1,440.
