honorplay 1Honor’s gaming-focused smartphone, the Honor Play, was officially launched yesterday at SM City Fairview, with a promise of delivering a whole new level of gaming experience to the mobile community.

The Honor Play is powered by a flagship grade Kirin 970 processor, and is the first smartphone from the brand that comes with GPU Turbo Technology, improving the device’s graphics processing efficiency by up to 60%, and also reducing the SoC’s power consumption by up to 30%.

It also boasts of AI-related features, such as AI 4D Smart Shock, which makes the device vibrate according to what’s happening in-game, along with AI 3D Surround sound which utilizes Histen 3D Audio Technology to deliver an ultra-wide 3D sound field, and works with both wireless and wired headphones.

There’s a 6.3-inch FHD+ display for all your content, 4GB of RAM for multi-tasking, and 64GB of storage. The Honor Play runs on  EMUI 8.2 on top of Android 8.1, and packs a 3,750mAh battery.

honorplay 3At the back is an AI-assisted 16MP + 2MP dual rear camera system, which can optimize itself for 500+ scenarios and 22 objects in real time. There’s also AI Motion Detection and Image Stabilization to ensure that you get beautiful photos with every tap of the camera shutter button. Also up-front is a 16MP snapper with AI Portrait Mode and 3D Portrait Lighting.

Also present were some of the country’s top gaming personalities, Ashley Gosiengfio, Riku, Bea Benedicto and Suzzysaur, who also showcased their prowess in a live Arena of Valor match together with select fans and members of the HiHonor community.
