Starting today, PayMaya users can start receiving Western Union remittances via PayMaya application!

If you usually receive money from friends,  family, employers and business partners via Western Union, there is now a far more convenient way to get it! Using PayMaya mobile Wallet, your smartphone is now your new “Western Union Agent”.

western union 1All it takes is to download the app, upgrade your account (for first-time users only), click “Add Money” and select Western Union in the list. Unlike other partners of PayMaya, Western Union requires the usual MTCN provided by the money send to proceed with the transaction. Money will then be received in a few minutes!

Hold your horses though. There is a limit to the amount of money to be received: USD 500 per transaction or USD 1,500 per day, or up to a maximum of PayMaya wallet capacity of USD 2,000.

In a statement given by Bassem Awada, Western Union’s Regional Vice President for Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, and Brunei, ” Our aim is to offer seamless money transfers for all. This means reaching out to customers across all channels including mobile. Filipinos can now choose digital pay-out on their PayMaya mobile wallet in addition to visiting a Wester Union Agent location to pick up cash.”

For YouTubers and AdSense users, PayMaya’s latest partner can definitely send smiles to their faces. Most online creators and ad publishers choose Western Union as a means to receive payments from services that serve advertisements like Google and Facebook.

According to Orland B. Vea, President and CEO of PayMaya Philippines, “The collaboration with Western Union drives even greater financial inclusion for our families across the country.”
