Not long after its unveiling at the company’s Unpacked event, Samsung’s newest flagship, the Galaxy Note 9 officially makes its debut in the Philippines.
Built with enhanced usability in mind, the Galaxy Note 9 offers the same premium design language as the Note 8, now in a more symmetrical and less curvy form factor, complimented by a 6.4-inch QHD+ SuperAMOLED display. The PH variant will have an Exynos 9810 processor, along with up to 8GB of RAM.
Samsung’s taking it a notch higher with storage capacity, as the Galaxy Note 9 comes in two configurations, 128GB, and 512GB. Yes, you’ve read that right. Combine that with a 512GB microSD card, and you’ll have 1TB of storage in your pocket. Thanks to a 4,000mAh power cell, the Note 9 sports the largest battery in the entire series. Samsung claims it as a 1-day battery. But we’ll see.
Of course, what is a Note device without S-Pen improvements? well, I’d say they did a beautiful job with it. The Note 9’s S-Pen is connected to the phone via Bluetooth. It has its own battery, which can be charged by simply putting it back to the phone. Don’t worry, charging time is less than a minute, and the S-Pen will work with its usual functions even with no charge.
The new and enhanced S-Pen can now be used to open the Camera app, take photos, navigate your gallery, control your music playback, your presentations, and more. All with a few taps of the S-Pen button.
Samsung didn’t skip on the imaging department as well, as the Note 9 features dual 12MP rear cameras with Dual Pixel PDAF, and Dual Aperture, 2x Optical Zoom, OIS, and auto scene detection, which can optimize the camera for up to 20 scenes. Selfies will be even more fun, with up to 54 AR Emojis.
Want a full-pledged desktop experience? Samsung DeX is now built into the Note 9. Which means all you’ll need is a USB-C to HDMI adapter, and an external monitor. No need for so many accessories. For the ultimate listening experience, the Note 9 has been equipped with stereo speakers tuned by AKG, the loudest for a Note device.
Samsung also announced a variety of new covers for the Note 9, letting you add a bit of personal touch to your device, while also keeping it protected.
