We all thought ASUS was about done with 2018 with the recent launch of the ZenFone Max Pro M2. Turns out, they aren’t. The Tech Giant has thrown in another surprise just before the year ends, its first ever Android Go smartphone, the ZenFone Live L1.
Specs-wise, the this version of the ZenFone Live L1 is identical to the first variant. You get a 5.5-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a quad-core Snapdragon 425, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13MP rear camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.. The main difference is that this one doesn’t come with ZenUI installed. Instead, it runs on Android Oreo Go Edition.
Android Go is specifically designed for lower-end devices, and allows for up to 30% faster start-ups. It’s also made to maximize the performance of smartphones with 512GB to 1GB of RAM, offering a better experience for entry-level users.
The range of Android Go-exclusive apps like Google Maps GO! and YouTube GO! are also tailor-fit to run without any lag, and the Data Saver features gives users more control over the use of their mobile data by intelligently managing applications.
