So, what’s a newcomer to do to make a dent in the smartphone space in CES 2019? If you’re HiSense, how about putting in a 48 megapixel camera?

The Chinese government-owned company recently unveiled the HiSense U30 which houses a 48MP rear camera. Next to it is a 5MP depth sensor and a fingerprint reader. The selfie snapper is no slouch either as it boasts 20MP and sits at the upper-left corner of the device. Interestingly, the selfie camera looks punched through the screen where it is located. It looks like a huge black dot on the screen, as opposed to notches that do not overlap the screen from the bezel or frame.

That’s not all. For those who are after the latest and greatest, then you’d be happy to know that the HiSense U30 touts latest Snapdragon 675 chipset.

The phone, launching in March this year, will go with Android 9 Pie with two RAM configurations to choose from – 6GB and 8GB. Storage unfortunately, is only fixed at 128GB.

Battery-wise, it carries a massive 4,500mAh power pack with Quick Charge 4.0 support.

The HiSense U30 will be available in China, Russia and some European countries. We’ll be sure to update you guys if we hear about HiSense launching here. C’mon HiSense, your TVs are making a killing here, why not try it out with your phones as well?
