Vivo has possibly launched its own sub-brand after a new account appeared on Chinese microblogging site Weibo. The account started off by sending out an initial post that read, “Hello, this is IQOO,” with no other information.
Reports say that IQOO will be positioned as a premium brand with prices of handsets to go above the RMB 5000 mark (about PHP 38,483.57). This is despite the initial post not giving away much with how Vivo plans to position the IQOO brand.
MySmartPrice tracked the iqoo.com domain and were able to trace it back to Vivo and this is perhaps the biggest confirmation that IQOO is the sub-brand of Vivo.
Other Chinese smartphone makers like Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi have launched their sub-brands in Honor, Realme, and POCO, respectively. Vivo is the latest to jump in the sub-brand bandwagon.
