Canon Launches EOS RP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera and PV-123 Mini Photo Printer in PH

Yesterday, Canon Marketing Philippines Inc. (CMPI) unveiled its newest full-frame mirrorless camera that’s set to raise the bar for optical excellence, and bring the full-frame option to more consumers. They also launched the PV-123 Mini Photo Printer that can print good quality photos without using any ink.

eos rp 1At 485 grams, the EOS RP the lightest model in the entire EOS full-frame series. It’s equipped with the RF lens mount that has a short flange focal distance of 20mm, the new DIGIC 8 image processor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF, and improved ergonomics for ease of use.

eos rp 6It’s equipped with a 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor, and has a native ISO Range of 100 – 40,000 that can be expanded to 50-102,400. It’s also capable of shooting 4K videos at 24p/25p.  It also features lighting-fast autofocus at 0.05 seconds, and Servo AF mode support, which makes focus tracking for moving subjects more accurate.

eos rp 4 One of the EOS RP’s most defining feature focus bracketing, which is useful for situations with a shallow depth of field effect. It basically involves taking a series of photos and stitching them into one single high-resolution image with superb clarity.

eos rp 3Taking shots from high or low angles are now easier, thanks to a 3.0-inch Vari-angle touchscreen LCD. You can also take care of those hard to see subjects using the EOS RP’s autofocus, which can operate at EV-5 (near total darkness).

PV-123 Mini Photo Printer

pv 123This extremely compact photo printer features Zero Ink Technology from ZINK – a revolutionary dry-printing technology that allows for printing in color without the need for any ink cartridge. It prints 2×3-inch quality glossy prints that are also smudge-proof and scratch-resistant, with a peel and stick reverse side which can stick to just about any smooth surface.

The device has a built-in battery, which means you don’t have to worry about finding a power outlet to print.  To pair it with a smartphone, users simply need to press the button on the side.

Using the Canon Mini Print Mobile app, users can take photos through the in-app camera integration, or retrieve their favorites from a variety of online albums, including Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive, and Dropbox.

The app also includes an extensive library of editing tools, creative filters, photo frames, which can then be used to add an extra personal touch to your printouts. For times when 2×3 prints will not suffice, the app allows for the creation of a collage of up to four images, or even a tile print function that creates an enlarged print of up to nine photos.
