Amidst high-anticipation from fans, Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note 7 in the Philippines. Offering a great formula of an impressive mid-range specsheet and competitive pricing.
The Redmi Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch drop dot display with FHD+ resolution and protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE, along with up to 4GB of RAM, and a generous 128GB of storage, expandable with a microSD card.
For optics, the phone houses two shooters at the back. The first is a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor which uses Tetracell technology that merges four pixels to work as one large 1.6µm pixel. The result is a 12MP image that’s brighter and has clearer details, even in less than ideal lighting conditions. The second is a 5MP sensor for adding that depth of field effect.
Its cameras are augmented with AI features such as AI Scene Detection, AI Portrait, AI Beautify and even Night Mode which comes from the Mi Mix 3. Other features include Bluetooth 5, a USB Type-C port, and an IR Blaster.
The Redmi Note 7 runs on MIUI 10 on top of Android Pie, and packs a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 compatibility.
“We are marking our second year in the Philippines inspired by our Mi Fans’ strong love of Xiaomi, which propelled us to become the best-selling brand in the biggest online sales events last year. As we update our multi- brand strategy in January with Redmi becoming an independent smartphone brand, we are strengthening our commitment in the Philippines by launching the latest device under the superior quality yet extremely cost effective Redmi brand, the Redmi Note 7. This comes with an 18-month warranty, making sure that Filipino Mi fans will be able to get the best out of the device.”
