ASUS also unveiled a second portable monitor in Computex 2019, this time a portable gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate – the ASUS ROG Strix XG17.
The ROG Strix XG17 has a 17.3-inch IPS Full HD panel with 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. It has both micro-HDMI and Type-C connectivity making it compatible with a variety of devices – from smartphones/tablets to laptops and game consoles.
The portable gaming monitor weighs in at 800 grams. It also has a built-in battery that supports up to three hours of 240Hz operation. The battery also supports fast-charging with a one-hour top-up to power the panel for 2.7 hours.
The ROG Strix XG17 features adaptive-sync which operates between 48Hz – 240Hz. This allows it to derive smooth gameplay from modest GPUs. The portable monitor also has a built-in speaker along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
