After years of development and numerous teasers and gameplay reveal, Square Enix finally announced the release date of the much awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake.

In a quick teaser posted on their YouTube and Facebook page this morning, Square Enix announced that the game will release worldwide on March 3, 2020. They also showed this as a surprise teaser to a live audience during FINAL FANTASY VII A Symphonic Reunion.

The game was announced in 2015 and it’s a retelling of the story the caught the hearts and attention of gamers in 1997. The development of the game got a lot of attention by both media and consumers.  From shifting to active time battle to action-based battle system; from using Unreal Engine to collaborating various developers for other facets and features of the game, Final Fantasy VII Remake indeed has a proven colorful development history.

We’re treating March 3 next year as a very special date! As someone who finished the game several times on my Playstation, I am more than pumped to step into Midgar once again. How about you? Are you getting one when it comes out?
