Being the first company to successfully rollout a 5G device in Europe in form of the Reno 5G, OPPO has a vision set towards the future, and is already looking ahead to pioneering 6G technology.
Trailblazing innovation with OPPO Reno
A pioneer in 5G technology, OPPO established its first team dedicated to 5G back in 2015, and since then, has invested heavily in various areas such as standardization, R&D and applications.
Last April, the company launched the revolutionary Reno series (Reno, Reno 5G, Reno 10x Zoom) in the European market, all of which pack innovative technologies and exceptional photography capabilities combined with a unique aesthetic design. One of the key features is the motorized module, which houses the front camera, soft light and rear flash, smartly hidden in the body of the phone, and only rises on demand.
The OPPO Reno is set for a Philippine launch this June. Check out our first look at the device.

A Future Towards 6G
With 5G on its kickstart stage in Europe, OPPO already unveiled its vision of a future with connected intelligence at the 53rd IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), held in Shanghai last May 20th to 24th. Mr. Henry Tang, Director of Standards Research and Chief 5G Scientist at OPPO, delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the company’s commitment to driving the future of connectivity.
Tang talked about a future of connectivity wherein businesses will be able to run largely without human intervention. 6G will enable smart transmissions, in which devices will be able to share and convey AI messages among themselves. Of course, this will need a massive effort to overcome a series of challenges to boost performance, such as dramatic improvements to speed, latency reliability, coverage, energy efficiency, connection density, accuracy and security.
“With the iterative evolution of technologies, the whole of human society – and indeed the world around us – will realize an unprecedented level of interconnectivity. We at OPPO welcome and embrace this exciting new opportunity to help usher in a new era of connected intelligence.”
– Henry Tang, Director of Standards Research and Chief 5G Scientist at OPPO
