OPPO has announced the rollout of ColorOS 6 Open Beta for the OPPO F9, which offers users the latest Android mobile operating system experience.

All models upgraded to ColorOS 6 integrate new features introduced by Android Pie. Some of these include improved interactions, enhanced AI capabilities, and optimization of the underlying interface.

The new ColorOS adopts a borderless design concept. OPPO combines light, subtle color, and a simplistic white background to create a lightweight and elegant UI. The simplistic white background design has subtle gradients that seamlessly blend with built-in modern art wallpapers to deliver an experience in borderless aesthetics.

Along with an aesthetic shift, the navigation bar has also been moved to the top of the screen. It streamlines the information hierarchy by replacing tapping with swiping. It also features animations that stimulate natural friction for a more intuitive experience.

ColorOS 6 also comes with imaging advancements such as Dazzle Color Mode and a new portrait style. Dazzle Color Mode leverages mapping algorithms to restore vivid colors, reverse light, and improve shading in pictures. It also expands the range of scenarios that smartphone photography can handle. While a new portrait style employs AI to scan through the most-viewed photos on social networks globally to customize five portrait filters.

Gaming has also been integrated in the new version with GameBoost 2.0 and new core technologies Touch Boost and Frame Boost. Touch Boost and Frame Boost effectively improve game feel and frame rate stability.

Other apps like Game Space and Game Assistant help with the overall gaming experience by giving customization for network, power consumption, messaging, etc.

ColorOS 6 introduces security features including App Encryption, Private Safe, and Find my Device. Additional payment has features have also been added – payment blocking, payment identity verification, and environment monitoring for payments apps.

The new upgrade will initially roll out to the OPPO F9, then the Find X, and then to a variety of other OPPO devices.
