The Sony WF-1000X was one of our personal favorites when it comes to wireless headphones, thanks to a combination of great sound quality, outstanding noise cancellation, and superb comfort.

wfNow, the company has revealed WF-1000XM3, which features a new design and delivers a multitude of improvements such as better sound, and battery life. It delivers industry-leading noise cancellation, thanks to Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1e chip, and Dual Noise Sensor Technology, allowing you to hear your music and nothing else.

The next level of silence

Dual Noise Sensor Technology uses one feed-forward microphone and one feed-back microphone to catch the ambient sound around you. The dedicated HD Noise Cancelling Processor  QN1e then does its magic by creating an inverted sound wave that offsets the background noise. This cancels out more noise across all frequencies while using less power.

Exceptional sound quality

HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1e also delivers stunning sound quality thanks to 24-bit audio signal processing and a DAC with amplifier. Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), a native feature in its Walkman series upscales compressed digital music files to bring you close to the quality of High Resolution Audio.

True wireless, true freedom

The buds are small, light, and pack a newly developed Bluetooth chip which allows both the left and right buds to receive audio content at the same time versus conventional left-to-right relay Bluetooth transmission. The optimized antenna structure also ensures a stable wireless connection, while low latency syncs what you see on screen precisely with what you hear.

Clever convenience

With Noise Cancelling ON, you can listen to music for up to 24 hours, thanks to the WF1000-XM3’s case, which doubles as a charger. Thanks to its Quick Charge feature, you can get up to 90 minutes of battery life from a 10-minute charge.

You can place your finger over the touch panel of the left earbud to quickly lower the volume and let ambient sound in. The touch sensors on the device are also customizable, letting you control playback or activate your voice assistant with simple taps.

It also boasts a Wearing Detection feature, which automatically stops playback when you remove one of the earbuds from your ears, and resumes playback when you wear it back.

Optimized for Google Assistant, you’ll even be able to operate the headphones with voice. It’s also compatible with the Sony Headphones Connect app, which offers a ton of customization for sound, noise cancellation, touch controls and more.
