Earlier today, Canon unveiled the newest additions to its G-Series family. The PowerShot G7X Mark III and G5X Mark II are the newest compact flagship models that offer an astonishing combination of DSLR speed, quality, and lightweight handling.
Both are equipped with a 20.1 MP, 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor, the new DIGIC 8 processor, and are also capable of 30 fps high speed continuous shooting in RAW burst mode. Both also boast an expanded ISO range of up to 25,600 and faster autofocus to produce crisp, detailed and clear shots in any lighting condition, and can also shoot 4K 25p/30p with no crop, allowing users to captures grand landscape videos in stunning detail.
PowerShot G7X Mark III
The PoweShot G7X Mark III offers up to 4.2x Zoom with its 24-100mm focal range, making it a perfect tool for macro close-ups of 0.47x magnification and a refined depth of field effect.
Perhaps the most iconic feature of this camera is its YouTube Livestreaming Function, which allows it to directly stream 1080p video. To use this feature, the end-user must register on Canon iMAGE GATEWAY, and have a minimum of 1,000 subscribers in accordance with YouTube guidelines.
A much-requested feature, the G7X Mark III now has a Mic-input, which is useful for content creators. It can also shoot 120fps slow motion videos for a more creative touch.
PowerShot G5X Mark II
The PowerShot G5X Mark II on the other hand, features up to 5X optical zoom with a newly designed f/1.8-f/2.8 lens with 24-120mm focal range. It also has a popup EVF (Electronic View Finder). Users can take advantage of its touch and drag AF system when using the EVF.
Both cameras feature a Tilting-LCD Screen, USB charging, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy to seamlessly connect with other smart devices with one single tap. They also have clean HDMI output, and their batteries can be charged directly via their USB Type C ports.
