OPPO has just unveiled the second iterations of its Reno series smartphones in its launch event in India. This time, it’s not just one, not two, but three devices. Say hello to the Reno2, Reno 2Z, and Reno 2F, all made to deliver the perfect mix of style and performance.
Reno2
Powered by a Snapdragon 730G, the Reno2 is built for those who demand great performance in resource-intensive tasks such as gaming and multi-tasking. All content is shown in a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 500 nits of brightness indoor, and 800 nits when outdoor. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
For optics, the Reno 2 packs four shooters – a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, 13MP telephoto, 8MP wide-angle, and a 2MP depth sensor. This setup is capable of 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom which can also be used for video recording. There’s also OIS, EIS and ultra-steady mode at up to 60fps. The 16MP front camera is housed in a shark fin module, that rises across the top of the device.
The new Ultra Dark Mode allows the camera to capture stunning images in low-light, while Ultra Macro mode helps in more up-close shots. You can now add a depth of field effect on your videos when using the rear and front camera. Audio focus enhances audio when zooming in a subject, and the multiple microphones installed on the device helps reduce background noise.
Reno2 runs on ColorOS 6.1, and packs a 4,000mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge Technology. Other features include the Hidden Fingerprint 3.0, HDR10 Gaming support, Game Boost 3.0, and Game Assistant.
This time, OPPO has opted for two new offerings for the Reno2 series, giving an option for consumers at multiple price points. Welcome, the Reno2Z and Reno2f.
Reno2Z and Reno2F
Both Reno2Z and Reno2F on the other hand, offer slightly smaller 6.53-inch AMOLED screens, powered by the Helio P90, and Helio P70 respectively. Both have 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage.
For optics, both devices boast a quad camera setup – 48MP main, 8MP wide-angle, 2MP monochrome and another 2MP sensor for depth. Both run on ColorOS 6.1 on top of Android Pie, and pack a 4,000mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 flash charge.
As for other features, you get Ultra Dark Mode, Ultra Steady Mode, and Bokeh Effect Video on the Reno2Z, and Ultra Night Mode 2.0 on the Reno2F. Both also use a more traditional design for the popup selfie camera.
