The tagline of the launch is “Rethink Possibilities” which may be the case especially with the trade ban which was announced months ago. The Mate 30 is the first flagship device that the company will launch after the trade ban announcement from the White House earlier this year.
A report indicates that the Mate 30 series can’t launch with the official Google apps which means they may not run on Android at all. A 90-day extension may have been announced but this only applies to previously released phones. Will the phones launch with the company’s HarmonyOS? we’ll have to wait and see
While design and hardware are exciting to see especially with the power and beauty of the P30 series, we think that the more interesting announcement will be which software it will run on.
