OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau revealed the design of the OnePlus 7T in a post in OnePlus forums.
While the OnePlus 7T isn’t the first device launched by the company to sport a triple rear camera setup, its design definitely stands out from its predecessors.
“The camera should make a bold visual statement, but also flow naturally with the overall design for a seamless appearance,” said Lau in the post. “To convey the superior quality and effortless versatility of our Triple Camera setup, finding an elegant balance between the three unique lenses. With perfect symmetry from any orientation, a circular design became the natural choice,” he added.
The rear of the 7T features a circle in the top middle part of the phone. In it are the three sensors as well as the LED flash. Below the circle is the company logo.
It’s a curious design choice from OnePlus, for sure but one thing that caught our attention is the beautiful gradient on the render. Sure, there’s been a rise of gradients on different phones but the white to dark blue gradient on the OnePlus 7T just looks gorgeous. It helps take away our attention from the circular camera module.
The new device from OnePlus will have a 90Hz display. That said, we’ll just have to wait and see how the phone performs. The design choice might not be for everyone but it’s an interesting direction from the company.
More details about the phone will probably be revealed on September 26.
