Tales of Arise is the latest entry into the long running Tales series and during the Tokyo Game Show 2019, Bandai Namco released a new trailer for the game along with some game screenshots to get everyone excited for the upcoming title. Check out the trailer below:
The last time a Tales game was released was back in 2016 (Tales of Berseria) and the reason why it took so long to put a new game out was because the development team wanted to use new technology (Unreal engine 4), hence the massive improvement in graphical fidelity. Bandai Namco also places great importance in localizing the game across many territories to make the game more accessible to a wider audience, hence the long development time.
Producer Yusuke Tomizawa shares his insights and talks about the game in-depth during a live stream held at the final day of TGS, which you can see below, skip to the 9:55 mark to watch the stream from the start.
A star studded development team is also working on this title, featuring Minoru Iwamoto, a long time artist from the previous games, taking the lead art director role for Tales of Arise. The game also features Shino Shimoji and Takuya Sato, the voice actors of our main characters Shionne and Alphen.
Tales of Arise will release in 2020 for the PS4, Xbox, and PC.
