Tokyo Game Show 2019 | Top 5 games we’re excited for

Contents (maximize to view)

Tokyo Game Show is back again and as one of the biggest exhibitions this side of the world, we’re just as hyped as you are to find out what new games we can look forward to over the next few months leading into next year. This year, as we step into the halls of Makuhari Messe once again, we’re particularly hyped about a couple of games that we’ll be able to witness first hand. Check them out below!

Playable Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Let’s face it, this game is probably one the the biggest, if not THE BIGGEST game of 2020, and we’ve only just seen tidbits of it. This year at the Tokyo Game Show, a playable demo will be available to attendees and growing up as a Final Fantasy fan since FF4, this playable demo is something that’s on the top of my list. While a lot of playthrough impressions have already made their way due to it being playable way back E3 and Gamescom, being the first ones in Asia to experience this impending masterpiece is very exciting.

Playable Nioh 2

Nioh was a spectacular game. Although you can say that it is another Soulsborne clone, Nioh played undeniably fast and carved out its own identity across the various similar games. Nioh 2 may be another great title if the first game is a benchmark we can follow, so getting to play this at Tokyo Game Show is a no brainer as far as hype levels are concerned. While there aren’t many Nioh fans out there, this is one game that we’re hungry to get our filthy hands on.

Yakuza 7 News and Playable Demo

The Yakuza series has been going strong ever since it first released in 2005 and with its recent remasters, the whole world has gotten to know who Kiryu really is. With the recent reveal of Yakuza 7, it only makes sense that more news should surface and what perfect venue to do so than during Tokyo Game Show. We’re excited to find out more about this title, apart from the fact that it’s going to have RPG battle elements that greatly resemble Personal!

Death Stranding News and Trailers

The closer we get to Death Stranding, the less we know of it. Trailers of gameplay have been popping up along with character trailers but really, does anyone really know what the game is about? With about a couple of months to go, some form of update regarding Death Stranding would be welcome and Sony has indeed revealed that it is part of their line up, the question is will we know more about it or will it just confuse us further than it already has?

Project Resistance News

Project Resistance was announced by Capcom a few weeks ago and it’s looking to be some sort of coop game possibly similar to Outbreak, which was released years ago on the PlayStation 2. Enter the trailer which was just released a couple of days ago and it has mostly answered what everyone has been asking of it. It’s most definitely looking to be a multiplayer game that should resemble outbreak in some form. Hey, maybe we get a playable demo during TGS, here’s hoping!
