Xiaomi has officially launched its latest flagship gaming smartphone Black Shark 2 Pro in the region beginning in Malaysia. The company launched the Black Shark 2 earlier this year and the Pro version is an upgrade to the base version of the phone.
The Black Shark 2 Pro comes with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor. It comes in two memory variants, 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 12GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.
The Pro version comes with the similar 6.39-inch HD+ AMOLED display with no notes or punch-holes. While it doesn’t have 90Hz refresh rate, it does have 240Hz touch polling rate and 34.7 input latency for quicker response. The rear of the phone features a distinct design that looks similar to the Black Shark 2.
As far as the camera goes, the Black Shark 2 Pro has a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP f/1.8 main shooter and a 12MP f/2.2 telephoto sensor. Its front camera is a 20MP sensor.
Powering the gaming phone is a 4000mAh battery which supports 27W fast charging through a USB-C port. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
It comes in Shadow Black and Iceberg Grey with Gulf Blue coming later this month. The 8GB/128GB variant costs RM 2,499 (around PHP 31,000) while the 12GB/128GB combination is RM 2,999 (around PHP 37,100).
